Candidates who have passed all the examinations of the B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) / LL.B Degree Course shall be awarded Divisions by the affiliating University in accordance with the total aggregate marks secured by them in all the Semester Examinations taken together.
1) First Class: 60% and above.
2) Second Class: 40% and above but less than 60%
3) Minimum Pass marks: Minimum pass marks in each paper shall be 40%.
Candidates who have not passed the examinations in the first attempt can repeat the papers if they failed to qualify in three papers only, provided that the students are required to meet the minimum aggregate marks as provided by the University Regulations.
Regarding examination of B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) & LL. B. courses the Rules and Regulations of the affiliating University are to be followed. These Rules and Regulations are subject to change from time to time.
The curricula as approved by the affiliating University are to be followed till these are not changed and modified.
A regular course of study for eligibility to appear at the LL.B. Examination of a semester shall mean attendance of not less than 75% of the aggregate in lectures, in subjects listed in the scheme of instruction. Provided that, in special cases and for sufficient cause shown, the Vice Chancellor, on the recommendation of the Principal, may condone the deficiency not exceeding 10% attendance on medical grounds when the application submitted at the time of actual illness is supported by a certificate from an authorised Medical Officer, and approved by the Principal. In case condonation in attendance on medical ground is sought the applicant shall pay the prescribed fee and the decision of the University be final.
In any semester of the course, if a candidate fails to secure the minimal percentage of attendance, he/she shall not be eligible to appear in the examination of that semester, and he/she shall have to enroll himself / herself to undergo afresh a Regular Course of study of the corresponding semester in subsequent academic session, in order to become eligible to appear for the examination.
The LL.B. Degree in the Faculty of Law will be conferred on a candidate by the Vidyasagar University who has pursued a regular course of study for three academic years for Three Year LL. B. Course and five academic sessions for Five Year B. A. LL. B. (Hons.) Course as prescribed in the scheme of instruction and has passed all the examinations as prescribed in the scheme of examinations.
The College takes a pro-active position on all matters relating to professional and appropriate code of conduct on the part of the entire College community - students, faculty and non-teaching staff.
In furtherance of its commitment to an environment of honesty, fairness and mutual respect, the College Management will take serious cognizance of acts of academic / professional misconduct that include cheating on academic exercises, plagiarism, misrepresentation and interference of any kind in the access of fellow students to College services, among others.
Issues like sexual harassment and ragging etc. will also be seriously death with as per Law of the Country.
Steps will also be taken against derogatory acts on the part of any student or acts of gross misconduct or indiscipline.
The admission will also be cancelled if a student is found involved in misconduct, activities of in-discipline and such other activities which may be against the academic atmosphere and normal functioning of the College.
The students of the College will not be allowed to organize any meeting, deputation, demonstration, agitation etc. which may hamper the normal functioning of the College and can create tension amongst students and / or vitiate academic atmosphere of the College.
Irregular attendance in classes, negligence in class work, insubordination, misconduct etc. will invite disciplinary measures against the student concerned which includes fine, detention, expulsion from the College etc.
The decision of the College Authority in this regard be final.
